Khan Sahab Biryani Genie Mascot — full presentation sheet by Pixy Social

Giving the brand a face it could own forever

Khan Sahab Biryani had a strong product and a loyal customer base — but lacked a visual identity that could travel beyond the restaurant itself. In a category saturated with red-and-gold signage and generic Mughal motifs, they needed something that would stop a scroll, spark delight, and be instantly recognisable across packaging, social media, and in-store communication.

Our mission was to design a mascot that felt native to the brand's heritage — rooted in the magic of great food — while being contemporary enough to carry the brand into digital formats and beyond.

A character with warmth, magic, and appetite

We wanted the mascot to embody the brand promise: that every plate of biryani from Khan Sahab is a wish fulfilled. The metaphor of a genie — emerging from a magic lamp, granting culinary wishes — aligned perfectly with the brand's identity and gave us creative latitude to build a character full of personality.

The vision was not just a logo element, but a full brand character: expressive across poses, scalable across formats, and memorable enough that customers would associate the genie with Khan Sahab before they saw the name.

Concept development, pose library, and brand integration

We started with mood-boarding across cultural archetypes — Aladdin, Mughal miniature art, and modern food mascots — before narrowing down to a concept that balanced heritage and modernity. The genie character was deliberately designed to be warm and approachable rather than intimidating: a stocky, cheerful figure with a signature purple hat, golden jewellery, and a wide smile that communicates hospitality.

  • Six distinct poses designed for varied use cases — serving biryani, welcoming guests, holding a blank signboard for promotions, and celebratory stances
  • 3D render style chosen for maximum versatility across print, digital, and environmental applications
  • Brand colours integrated directly into character design for seamless co-existence with the Khan Sahab visual identity
  • Character sheets prepared in scalable formats, ready for deployment across social media, packaging, and signage

The entire process — from brief to final delivery — took three rounds of ideation and two rounds of visual refinement, with the client actively involved in pose selection and expression feedback.

A mascot that became the brand

The Khan Sahab Genie was immediately embraced by the brand's team and its customers. Within weeks of deployment across social channels, it became the most-recalled visual element associated with the restaurant — surpassing the logo itself in recognition tests conducted informally by the client.

The character has since been deployed across Instagram posts, WhatsApp promotional material, and in-store print collateral — with plans to bring it into packaging and outdoor advertising in 2026.

Want a brand character that customers remember long after they've left the table? Let's build something iconic together.

Production Work for Kindle Cast

Kindle Cast three-camera podcast studio setup — lighting and camera plan by Pixy Social

Building a production infrastructure from the ground up

Kindle Cast came to us as an independent media venture with a clear editorial vision but no production backbone. The founders wanted to create a long-form conversation podcast — the kind of show that feels considered, cinematic, and genuinely worth watching, not just listening to.

Our mission was to design and execute a complete production setup: from camera positioning and lens selection, to lighting architecture and colour temperature calibration — so that every episode looked and felt like a professional broadcast production, regardless of the episode's topic or guest.

Cinematic consistency across every conversation

We envisioned a three-camera setup that would give editors maximum flexibility in post — wide establishing shots, intimate close-ups on each speaker, and a versatile middle angle for exchanges. The aesthetic direction was warm, editorial, and intimate: influenced by long-form interview shows that treat the conversation itself as the visual subject.

Beyond equipment, the vision included creating a repeatable system — one that Kindle Cast could use consistently for every episode without needing to reconfigure from scratch, ensuring visual coherence as the show scaled.

Three cameras, three lights, one precise system

To ensure a professional and scalable production workflow, we designed a multi-camera studio system centered around consistency, efficiency, and visual quality.

A three-camera setup was implemented to capture both wide conversational dynamics and individual speaker perspectives, allowing for seamless editing and a more engaging viewing experience. The camera ecosystem was calibrated to maintain visual continuity across all angles, ensuring a cohesive final output throughout every episode.

The lighting design followed a structured three-point approach, carefully balancing key, fill, and separation lighting to create depth, clarity, and a polished on-screen presence. This setup was engineered to deliver consistent results across varying recording conditions while maintaining a natural and professional aesthetic.

Beyond the technical infrastructure, the studio environment was thoughtfully styled with carefully selected set elements and visual accents to enhance the overall atmosphere without distracting from the conversation. Every component of the space was considered to support the show's identity and create a welcoming, premium viewing experience.

To ensure long-term sustainability, we documented the complete production workflow and studio configuration, enabling the Kindle Cast team to operate and replicate the setup independently. The system was tested, refined, and optimized through multiple pilot sessions, with iterative improvements made based on real-world production feedback before the official launch.

A show that looks as good as it sounds

Kindle Cast launched with a production quality that drew immediate commentary from viewers, many of whom noted that it felt like a professionally broadcast production rather than an independent podcast. The three-camera system gave the editing team genuine creative options in post, and the lighting setup proved consistent across multiple recording sessions without adjustment.

The client testimonial says it best — Pixy Social became part of the invisible architecture that keeps the show standing. Our work with Kindle Cast is ongoing, encompassing episode production, social media management, and continued technical refinement as the show evolves.

Building a show, a brand, or a creative project that deserves production quality to match? We'd love to be part of the architecture.
